I love the cobbled streets of Courmayeur. It’s a fabulous town with beauty, style and grace. The local church is lovely as is the Malluquin Tower (a symbol of the town). I love being in a valley with the majestic mountains towering over the village I’m in….you feel small and grateful. I love walking about at night (and day too — lots of little shops to explore — there’s also a lot of nightlife…)….strolling the streets and soaking up the atmosphere. Of course, skiing and hiking (in season) are the things to do here and this is a great place to do just that! I did not do what I am about to write about, but two friends did: they took the cable car ride from Courmayeur over to Chamonix (in France)….I’m told I missed sights, terror and beauty beyond belief….I chose to go to the Duca degli Abruzzi Alpine Museum instead! Market day in Courmayeur is on Wednesday.
