This is a wonderful luxury hotel (4 stars) in Todi (right in the center of town). It’s a former ancient patrician residence (17^th century) that has been lovingly restored, preserved and tended. There are 37 rooms and suites with bath, shower, phone, TV, air conditioning, minibar and safe. The décor of this lovely stone manor is tasteful and warm….vaulted ceilings, brick, stucco, sconces, arches, painted moldings, stained glass, beams — you get the picture (lovely). The rooms are just as pretty and have many of the same features with furnishings a mix of antique with sleek modern — each a different look (all beautiful). The hotel restaurant (Le Palme) serves Umbrian cuisine in a perfect setting. The food is exceptional. There’s a bar here too. An ancient 13^th century church is now a separate facility for meetings. This is a great hotel.

There are 40 rooms at this 3 star hotel just a few steps from the historic center of town (good location). The rooms come in standard and superior — 20 of each. The standard rooms have bath/shower, TV and phone — nice décor. The superior rooms have all of that plus minibar, air conditioning and more size and style….they’re all quite nice. The restaurant serves Umbrian cuisine — very delicious in a lovely setting. Another great choice in Todi.

Just outside Todi by a few miles is this wonderful country house. It was once a convent, then a farmhouse, then completely renovated (preserving the ancient look and feel). Today it is a lovely, rustic, charming farmhouse that has all the amenities you could ask for….there’s a pool, a terrace, a garden, a bar, a restaurant and the décor is antiques and earthtones (think lush and lovely). Each of the 9 rooms (2 of which are suites) have bathroom with shower or bathtub, telephone and panoramic views. The restaurant has a wonderful pasta al tartufo (pasta with truffle sauce) and taquino Siciliano (breaded turkey cutlets). The food is a combination of Neopolitan and Umbrian. The owners, Bruno and Claudio Pagliari are 3^rd and 4^th generation hotel owners who moved from Naples to Umbria in 1990. Bonus: the owner is a sculptor, you’ll see his work at the entrance and on the grounds…..this is a special place.

This is a wonderful former convent and monastery founded in the 12^th century. The structure and décor are much the same (modernized for comfort) – the feel is ancient. It’s a beautiful hotel in the Umbrian countryside. The 57 rooms and suites look out over the land and the Santa Maria della Consolazione Temple (this is a must see). The rooms have all the comforts – bath, shower, TV, phone, minibar and air conditioning. The décor is antique and pretty. There are 2 restaurants (the chef is a master) where wonderful food is served on the terrace (in good weather) or in the lovely dining room. The chef also runs a cooking school, that lasts 5 days and the hours are quite reasonable (as are the prices). The courses give you time to enjoy the area, yet also learn to make local and national (delicious and fresh) specialties. There’s a wonderful (big) pool, tennis courts, a conference room, a gym and the surrounding park for diversion – simply exploring the hotel is a treat! A real treasure in the countryside.

This is a unique and charming resort made up of ten 18^th century stone farmhouses that have been totally restored by master craftsmen. The farmhouses are truly lovely. There are 13 suites and additional bedrooms scattered throughout the 600 hectares of hills, valleys, streams, woods, lakes and natural beauty. The property is lovingly cared for. The suites offer views, baths, TV, phones, internet access and equipped kitchens. The décor is all about charm. Picture a Provencal décor with tiles, brick, pretty art, painted wooden furnishings, simplicity, comfort and charming fabrics — just wonderful. The rooms are decorated similarly and offer big beds, minibar, baths, TV and phone. The restaurant is called Elfo’s and serves wonderful food in a setting that is just plain pretty — chandeliers, stone, beams, stylish wooden chairs — all warm and inviting. There are many activities to partake of here — biking, hiking, fishing, horseback riding, 2 pools for swimming, a gym and fitness center — you’ll not be bored here! I love this place and the location!

Oh to stay in this lovely 14^th century castle in the countryside….It’s actually set on ancient Etruscan-Roman ruins. The hotel offers luxury at a reasonable price (it’s a 5 star property). There are 5 rooms, 12 superior rooms and 5 suites with bath, shower, phone, TV, air conditioning, safe, minibar, hair dryer and style….antique style and total comfort…..it’s gorgeous here! There’s a fabulous restaurant…..a reading room, a TV room, a pool, Jacuzzi, gym, tennis, lakes, gardens, terraces — views over Todi….it’s a gracious and lovely place to stay……..the price is unbelievable for what you get here……it’s a 5 star — get here fast!

This is a wonderful farm (stone and terracotta) set in the panoramic countryside. The hotel is 100 years old. The farm (hotel) produces wine, oil, meats and honey. It’s a 4 star property and the 21 rooms have bath with shower, minibar, TV, phone and panoramic views. The restaurant is wonderful (great big fireplace) and serves handmade pasta with truffles or funghi porcini, grilled meats and other wonderful dishes. The accommodations here are totally great and there’s a pool, a gazebo, a large terrace, mountain bikes, ping pong, yoga, tennis, a bbq and sulphurous waters to heal what ails you! The Trombetta family know how to run a hotel! The town makes it well worth the trip!

There are 43 rooms at this hotel set in the countryside (just 800 meters from the center of town). It’s a 3 star property. It sits in it’s own landscaped gardens and the views are nice from different vantage points. The rooms have all the comforts like bath, shower, TV, phone, minibar, air conditioning and some have balconies. The décor is pretty, nice and comfortable. It’s a mix of modern and antique - attractive. This is a great place to stay after wandering the streets of Todi (a great town). The restaurant is open to the public and has a good reputation. The cuisine served is Umbrian and some of the specialties are tartufo nero di norcia and funghi porcini, among others. There’s a nice pool, a bar and a solarium. You’ll enjoy walking the grounds of this hotel too. There are meeting facilities. It’s a good spot.

This country residence is elegant, lovely and worth the visit. Think stone terraces, vaulted ceilings, arches, classical Italian décor and friendly hosts. The residence/farm sits on a hill overlooking the Tiber River valley….it’s so so pretty here. This residence was once a monastery and a watch tower. The views are wonderful. There are 11 rooms (spacious) and 2 apartments decorated in antique and country Italian chic. There’s a pool, bikes, a solarium, meals cooked to request and perfection….relax…stay here.

This is a wonderful stone country house in a great location — very panoramic. The rooms and apartments are spacious and lovely — some have frescoes. It’s an old house that has recently been opened (they’ve been given awards for their property and hotel/villa). The accommodations are antique and country style — very lovely — very comfortable. There’s a restaurant and a bar. It is an enjoyable place to visit.

Salvatore and Sandra Falzone love their property very much. It sits alone on top of a hill commanding views over the countryside. The farm dates back to 700 and functioned as a working farm until 1904. Salvatore and Sandra renovated and refurbished the place (in 1998) and today this elegant country house is an ideal place to stay when touring Umbria and Tuscany. There are 6 rooms, 1 suite and one mini apartment. Each room is decorated with antiques, country furnishings, style and grace. Each room features something special (terrace, fireplace, special bed) and each has shower, bath, TV and views. You’ll find the rooms chic and comfortable. There’s a lovely lounge area on the first floor and what was once the stables and cellar is now a very good restaurant . Umbrian cuisines is served here and you’ll especially like the fettucine al sugo d’oca or di cinghiale or lepre, the pasta agli asparagi selvatici, gnocchi di patate in ragu d’oca, cinghiale al sugo, torta al testo con salsiccie, prosciutto, grigliate di carne mista con alloro e rosmarino e olio — all wonderful and there’s more! There’s a pool with views from every angle, bikes, treks, games and relaxation…..you’ll love the beams, the vaulted ceilings, the arches, the tiles, the terracotta — the restoration done here is exceptional. An enjoyable stay here is guaranteed!
