Rovereto

Rovereto has witnessed war firsthand. During WW1 much fighting took place here. It’s still a charming place in a lovely setting. The castle in town now houses the Museo Storico della Guerra (a war museum) and the Bell of the Fallen/Campana dei Caduti (which is made of melted down cannons from WW2). The bell tolls each evening at sunset (100 times). The Museo Civico is a natural history museum. Just south of Rovereto at Mount Zugna dinosaur prints have been found and many are visiting this sight searching for more (quite interesting to young people). Also south of Rovereto are the humongous boulders created by landslides called Ruina Dantesca (they’re mentioned in Dante’s Inferno)…..Don’t miss the Castel Beseno just north of Rovereto. Tuesday is Market day in Rovereto.
