di Sopra is a great town for those interested in athletic
pursuits — hiking, skiing, rock climbing, mountain
biking and trekking. It’s also an idyllically beautiful
place for scenery — pastoral and majestic. The town
is in the Dolomites at the foot of the Mauria Pass. The
views are unbelievable here…..truly the grandeur
is breathtaking, memorable — you feel kind of small
here….The town is known for its use of herbs
— in food, cosmetics, balms and those used for general
good health. The town is particularly pretty and the architecture
is typical — especially in the use of wood in the
buildings and homes. Stop in at the local borgo of Cella
— there’s a lovely church there with paintings,
altars and a 16th century baptismal font.
