Emilia-Romagna: Carpi

Carpi is a pretty Renaissance style town on the Secchia Fiume/river. There’s a 16th century cathedral by Peruzzi right at its center (Piazza dei Martiri). Also in this piazza are the Loggia, the Colonades (52 arches from the 15th century), the castle (Castello del Pio) which is now a museum and a memorial to those who gave/lost their lives in WW2. Behind the castle is the cathedral La Sagra and its campanile (Torre della Sagra).
