Emilia-Romagna: Brisighella

Medieval Brisighella lies in the Val Lamone (at the foot of the Appennine Mountains) — a charming hill town. You’ll enjoy the views. The town is very pretty (arcaded streets) and is a "spa" town. The major sight is the 14th century Rocca which houses the Museo della Civiltà Contadina/Museo di Lavoro Contadino (farming museum). The Torre dell’Orologio is a 13th century clock tower with the Museo del Tempo (Time Museum — rather interesting when you think about it). Drop in on the lovely Piazza Marconi and Piazza Carducci for an enjoyable respite — drink in your surroundings. Enjoy the Fontana Vecchia. The Pieve di San Giovanni in Ottavo/Pieve Tho has some fine frescoes and faience towers (Romanesque - lovely). Stop in at the Santuraio del Monticino, La Collegiata (17th century church), the Convento dell’Osservanza and the Chiesa di San Francesco e di S. Croce. And there’s more as you wander…..villas, more churches and the beauty of a fine small town……
